Oberon Press Move (April 2025)

In the spring of 2025, I took custody of a Linotype Model 5, several cabinets of vintage metal display typefaces and four galley racks full of ‘dead slugs’ that once were used to produce trade books at Ottawa’s storied Oberon Press. Matthew Code and Erik Barr travelled with me to prepare the equipment for shipment to Nova Scotia. Thanks also to my friends Joel and Colin at Maplewood Farms who brought over a farm tractor to unload the equipment and stash it in my barn for the summer.
