¶ This letterpress book reprints a short excerpt from Henry David Thoreau’s April 2, 1852, journal entry. Thoreau anticipates The Anthropocene Epoc and laments the troubling impact of the “gigantic institution’ of humankind, arguing that mankind might more properly be a prospect from which to glimpse the infinite.

Specifications: Typeset in Linotype Walbaum and foundry Trump Mediaeval. Printed in black and red on Zerkall mouldmade paper. One sheet printed ‘four-up’, folded, folded into a single signature and trimmed to 11.5  × 18 cm making 8 pages. Bound with a three-hole stitch in a black endsheet, a black paper cover and a red Zerkall Ingres mouldmade paper wrapper printed in opaque white and transparent white. Issued in a paper envelope printed in black and red.
