¶ This letterpress book reprints a short excerpt from Henry David Thoreau’s 1849 book A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. This passage considers human nature and how we “do not fail commonly for want of knowledge, but for want of prudence to give wisdom the preference.”

Specifications: Typeset in Linotype Juliana, Samson Uncials and Monotype ornaments. Printed in black, green, taupe and orange on Zerkall mouldmade paper. One sheet printed ‘four-up’ and folded in a single signature trimmed to 11.5  × 17.5 cm. Bound with a three-hole stitch in a black endsheet, a black paper cover and an orange Zerkall Ingres mouldmade paper wrapper printed in black, orange and opaque white. Issued in a paper envel­ope printed in black and orange from wood and metal type.
