¶ This letterpress chapbook reprints a short excerpt from Henry David Thoreau’s May 1852 journal. The passage catalogues numerous springtime phenomena and consider their impact on his thinking. This is the first showing of the newly-acquired Linotype Melior types by the press.
Specifications: Typeset in Linotype Melior, and handset Optima. Printed in black and three spot colours on Hahnemühle mouldmade paper. Two sheets printed ‘two-up’, folded and gathered in a single signature trimmed to 11.7 × 18 cm. Bound with a three-hole stitch in a black endsheet, a black paper cover and a purple paper wrapper printed in black and two spot colours. Issued in a paper wrapper printed from wood and metal type.
